USA Bats are the new bat standard for American Amateur Baseball Congress (
AABC), Amateur Athletic Union (AAU),
Babe Ruth Baseball/
Cal Ripken Baseball,
Dixie Youth Baseball,
Little League Baseball, and
PONY Baseball. These bats will be 2-5/8", 2-3/8", 2-1/2", and 2-1/4" in barrel diameter. They will have a length-to-weight ratio of -5oz to -13oz. Check with your league to make sure this is what you need.
-5oz for the stronger player, used to ease the transition before a BBCOR bat; generally used by a 13-and-under player playing 60/90
-8oz for the youth player who is more advanced and feels that the -10 is too light and the -5 is too heavy; the perfect "in-between" bat
-10oz is the most popular length-to-weight ratio used by most kids under the age of 12
-11oz is a lightweight bat with the same technology as the -10oz
-12oz is for bat speed to create power
-13oz is the lightest bat for younger boys or anyone who needs bat speed
